This Sunday the Philadelphia Eagles will play against the Denver Broncos and welcome back one of the greatest players in team history to their stadium as seven-time Pro Bowl safety Brian Dawkins will start the game, wearing his Broncos jersey, against the Eagles, a team he spent 13 seasons with before signing with the Broncos.
And the Eagles are also ready to welcome back another great Eagles player who may start at running back, in Eagles jersey as Brian Westbrook has been fine enough to practice with his teammates.
Westbrook has been out since suffering his second concussion in three weeks, Nov. 15 against the San Diego Chargers, with first concussion being suffered in a Monday night game against the Washington Redskins on Oct. 26. He returned to practice last week but was inactive for Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.
“I think he’ll be pretty fresh,” Eagles Coach Andy Reid said about Westbrook’s possibility to play Sunday’s game. “He’ll have fresh legs out there. Obviously he’s not going to play the whole game. (We will) make sure we keep track of how many plays he plays if it comes down to that.”
