Titans Owner Adams was fined $250,000 for obscene gesture to opponent fans

Getting caught up in the excitement of winning moment, the Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams made an expensive gesture at Buffalo Bills fans while celebrating his own team’s victory. The gesture cost him $250,000.

Commissioner Roger Goodell notified Adams of the fine Monday. Adams was seen making the gesture while in his luxury suite and again on the field after Sunday’s 41-17 victory, and according to league spokesman Greg Aiello, the conduct is considered to be detrimental to the NFL.

The 86-year-old Adams issued an apology a couple of hours after the game. He also said in his earlier statement that he expected league discipline for his actions and would accept any punishment. Anyway, he can afford it. What is more important that the game his team won was a legacy game with both teams wearing throwback uniforms, including NFL jerseys with AFL 50th Anniversary patches, to celebrate AFL 50th anniversary. As one of the original owners in the American Football League, winning this legacy game just means much more than $250,000.
